Get involved

Do you enjoy singing?

You could be part of this friendly, energetic, purposeful choir.

We perform two concerts each year at Stockport Town hall, and In addition, we hold ‘Come and Sing’ Days in October where we encourage members of other choirs and those who enjoy singing to join with our existing members to sing – and perform – a piece in a day. In 2021 it was our 30th Anniversary so our singing day was for choir members only but we enjoyed singing a great variety of our favourite pieces including  “The Heavens are Telling” from Hayden’s “The Creation”. This year in 2023 we sang Music from A Little Jaz Mass- Bob Chilcott, and Choruses from Hayden’s The Creation.

Rehearsals for our concerts are normally held on Friday evenings at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church from 7:15pm until 9.30pm for about eight weeks prior to each concert.  Generally, we have one Sunday afternoon rehearsal from 2pm to 4pm in addition to the above.

How to join

Prospective members need to attend a short, informal voice placement audition. Please use the form on our Contact Us page to enquire about membership.

Fees

Members pay an Annual Fee  – for 2023/2024 this is £85 – payable in August each year.

Other ways to support the choir……..

Running the choir inevitably costs money both in terms of hiring of rehearsal rooms, purchasing new music to add to our repertoire, printing of programme, fliers, and hiring concert venues.  For every £ we spend on these things, the amount we are able to give to the Hospice is reduced. Sponsorship and donations are therefore very welcome to help in covering these costs.

If you would consider sponsoring a concert by contributing towards the printing of programmes, fliers, or even the hire of the concert venue (Stockport Town Hall ) we would love to hear from you. If you would like to to make a donation to the choir please use the form on our Contact Us page.
